OSS - Daily Deals FAQ
Q: Can I move my orientation and class date?
A: This is the requirement that we ask of our students. If you can commit to the first Wednesday and the pool date, that would be most beneficial to you and help us help you in accomplishing your program in a timely manner. If you are unable to meet this portion or have very specific needs like a demanding work schedule, then the Private Program may be for you. Though it is an investment upgrade, it puts the schedule more in your control and allows us to set up private instruction for you with one-on-one instruction.

Q: How many ocean dives do I get to do?
A: You must do 4 ocean dives to obtain the PADI OW certification. They are typically done over two days (standards do not allow more that 3 training dives / day). The class includes 4 beach dives, which can also be done from the boat at an additional charge.
Q: What is the minimum age to get this offer?
A: While the class can be bought for a person of any age, PADI standards dictate that the person must be 10 years old at the day of the start of the class. For the company, the minimum age is relegated to 15 years old because of limiting standards for teaching 10-14 year old children. If your child is 10-14 years old, we suggest you call us at (714) 527-1500 to discuss options for private teaching of your child. We want your child to enjoy the experience and in a safe environment. Group class minimum age is 15 years old.
Q: If I have a YES answer on a medical question, can I still take the class?
A: You still can take the academics until you get permission from your doctor, then you can take the in water portion. Less than 1% of these cases have not been cleared to learn Scuba! But, it is important that if you have medical issues, a doctor clears you to safely conduct training.
Q: How much should I expect to spend on snorkeling gear?
A: We have several packages starting well below $350 for Online Deal members. Please note that snorkeling gear for Scuba are different from normal snorkeling gear. They are expected to last longer, keep you warmer and give you more propulsion than regular Wal-Mart and Costco style snorkeling gear. You need such gear due to the fact that you are submerged and donning a scuba unit during your dive. So, it's important that we look at your equipment to qualify it for safety reasons.
